Every month for the past 15 years, Hardware.Info has published its well-known PC Buyer’s Guides. Comprising multiple categories defined both by budget and how the computer will be used, these Guides are based on the results of Hardware.Info’s very own component and peripheral product tests. This method ensures that all important parts are selected purely based on proven merit in our rigorous and standardized tests. For 2013 we will be shaking things up a bit, introducing new Guides and adjusting the publication frequency to match the pace of technological developments in the different areas. For example, the evolution of hard disk storage has been slowing down, so we will be publishing fewer iterations of our home server Guides. On the other hand, increases in CPU and GPU power continue unabated, so our Gaming PC Guides will be updated more often.
Hardware.Info tests more than 1,500 products a year, many of them components and peripherals. Our PC Buyer’s Guides are therefore uniquely based on huge amounts of actual performance testing data: the best possible starting point for building your own system. Of course, our Guides often serve as a catalyst for discussion, and we always love to get feedback from our readers. Their opinions help us make sure that our categories remain up-to-date and reflect what people want as consumers.
