Beginners Guides: Repairing a Cracked / Broken Notebook LCD Screen
Sapphire Radeon 9700 Atlantis Pro - Sapphire Radeon 9700 Atlantis Pro
Tue, April 08 2003 | 5:21PM | PermaLink Feedback?
"We unscrewed the 4 little screws on each large heatsink, and removed the heatpipe as well. We noticed that there were generous amount of thermal compound applied on the heatpipe. In addition, the thermal compound was evenly applied and there were no gaps in-between the two heatsinks and heatpipe. This is to ensure maximum heat transfer. As you can see from the picture, the thermal compound is silver in colour and from its texture and colour, it looks like Artic Silver to us. Even if it is not Artic Silver, it is definitely not those cheap white colour thermal paste that most manufacturer use. "
