Taiwan's jobless rate edged up to 5.82% in May 2009, beating the previous high of 5.81% recorded in March 2009, statistics published by the government's Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics (DGBAS) show. The unemployment rate in May went up 0.06 percentage points sequentially, and 1.98pp from 3.84% a year ago.
