"During the second half of 2011 Microsoft previewed their new Operating System, Windows 8 by making a developer edition available. Despite the name anyone could download that build of Windows 8 and play about with it and many did. Since then the developers have been busy working away on the new OS and this week saw the release of a Consumer Preview which is the latest milestone in the development cycle and one which Microsoft feel is well suited to general consumers trying out.
Today we take a look at the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, how to install it, what the basic OS experience is and how it performs, compared to Windows 7 on AMDs latest FX CPU and Radeon 7700 series GPU."
