"Back when Microsoft released the first Combat Flight Simulator: WWII Europe series the market was flooded with WWII European campaign combat simulations. In all honesty, due to the market being flooded with WWII prop sims taking place only over Europe, very few stood out in the crowd, and Combat Flight Simulator wasn't one of them. Now that's not to say that Combat Flight Simulator was bad, it just didn't have some of the basic features found in many of the competition's combat simulations at that time. After all, the developers of Combat Flight Simulator were the same group responsible for MS Flight Simulator products over the years, not combat simulations. To say the least, they learned fast that the combat simulation community has very different wants and needs than that of the MS Flight Simulator crowd. "
