Fujitsu is boosting production of flash memory chips, used in cellphones, portable MP3 players, PDA's and other electronic devices. In a cooperative move with AMD, they will be producing 8MB modules to meet a surge in demand for portable electronic devices currently being felt.
Intel is also taking measures to ensure its place in the new flash market with a bunch of new patents attesting to the development going into this area of memory technology.
