RealNetworks joined forces Universal Music to offer music
over the Internet recently. Also in the throngs of contract signing was Sony, who's portable [MP3] players will be able to download this music off RealNetworks. "By adding
popular Universal artists as Shania Twain, Limp Bizkit and Nine Inch Nails, the company hopes to increase the use of its software over rival products from Microsoft Corp. and Apple Computer Inc." Setting aside great posibilities for mainstream commercial music and it's industries' to embrace the thought of online music retail, and the ever present MP3 death-cry, I just like to say Shania Twain, Limp Bizkit and NIN all in one sentence. You saw it here folks, and you'll probably never see it agian...
That said, I forcast record labels will begin taking advantage of e-commerce as it relates to music, and realize there is more money to be made selling - rather then sueing.
-My two cents
