I love the smell of new technology, and the smell of JPEG2000 smells good - kinna like improved bandwidth.... or chicken. The new algorithm compresses images up to 200 times with no appreciable degradation in quality. Officially ISO 15444 for those in the know, it uses wavelet transformations (just think back to matracies in algebra) to achieve the compression. Coming into world play 2001.
