Fri, December 31 1999 | 11:07AM | PermaLink Feedback?
For those overclocker's out there is must read article on the ABIT BE6 and BE6-II on PC Magazine. Those of you who are not interested in overclocking will enjoy it to as it rates these ABIT boards the "Most Successful Motherboards of `99". The features that set these boards apart from is predecessors are a combination of three factor; SoftMenuT III instead of Soft MenuT II, DIP switches, and finally, 1 ISA slot instead of 2. "Soft MenuT III allows you to squeeze the last drop from your CPU. Along with the standard frequency intervals, it allows you to reach 200MHz at 1 MHz intervals. It has a total of 119 different frequency settings, and multipliers up to 8x are supported. That is, from the BIOS, the PCI clock multiplier can be set by 1/3 or ?, and the AGP clock multiplier can be set by 2/3 and 1/1."
