With a few seconds to breath, I cleaned out my mail today. For anyone out there frustrated with Realtek NIC cards this may be of help to you:
"Just to let you know, I noticed the $9 NIC card that you had so many
problems with uses a Realtek chip, probably the RTL 8019. All the drivers
are directly available from the manufacturer at
http://www.realtek.com.tw/cn/cn.html
I bought a similar card (minus the BNC connector) and wanted to put it in a
Linux box as an IP masquerading firewall, but couldn't get it to change the
IRQ using the software supplied with the card. I downloaded the rset8019.exe
program from the drivers link on the above page and had no problems setting
it up. It's now sitting there working fine!"
