"There's still a lot of people using the traditional mouse which have a 'Mouse ball' inside the mouse.. there would be no problem with the mouse but, after long periods of 'gliding' the mouse around your dusty table, pad and ... you will notice that the mouse doesn't respond as good, this is due to the ball creating a static base when you glide the mouse around, the static will then 'suck' the dust and the 'dust' will become thicker and finally the 'ball' will have difficulty responding to your mouse movements! So, the 'Optical' type mouse was made to overcome this problem.."
