Seagate Backup Plus Slim External USB 3.0 2TB Hard Drive Review

Samsung LBPs - Samsung LBPs
Thu, December 27 2001 | 5:25PM | PermaLink Feedback?
In Win98 the USB cable must be connected before installation, but in Win2000 the cable must be connected after. A utility on the driver setup CD offers users the chance to repair a faulty installation with two mouse clicks. Not reading the instructions can cause incomplete installation, in which case the little Windows printer icon doesn’t appear in the system tray. The Toner Saver button is illuminated when activated. The paper LED lights when a print job isn’t completed, but the paper tray is empty. This is a nice feature if a large job is started, the user has walked away, and the screen saver has come on. Samsung claims the ML-1250 has a maximum output speed of 12ppm, which is one page every 5 seconds, based on five per cent coverage. We printed 100 copies of a one-page Word document in nine minutes 23 seconds. For those without calculators within reach, that’s one page every 5.63 seconds. For fun we tried printing black and white photo images from Jasc Paint Shop Pro. A full-page image printed in 43 seconds. While photo quality was passable, this unit is designed to perform quality document printing at a price that will make one reconsider inkjets.
