Mesh Rounded Cables - PCstats.com Mesh Rounded Cables
Sun, November 25 2001 | 12:09PM | PermaLink Feedback?
Mikhail of Mikhailtech sends the word that he's been looking at Mesh rounded cables... Certainly something a overclocker would need or a modder. They just look cool!

The final revision I noticed was present on the IDE cables: dual channels. Half of the wires are sent into one tube, the other half into another. The two channels are then bonded together with plastic. This aids in "bent shape" retention along with keeping the aforementioned sleeves intact. The wire mesh has several purposes. Not only does it look really nice, but it does a slew of other tasks. First, it helps keep the entire cable in a stationary position. Secondly, it physically protects the cables from damage, as any object has to get through a layer of plastic and then wire before it can get to the actual data lines. Finally, and this is mere speculation, it may aid in keeping the signals "crisper" by shielding the wires and blocking outside electrical interference.
