To begin with, Samsung's second-generation multi-function LCD is a top-of-the-line computer display. The image is crystal-clear and the 17-inch LCD screen is equivalent to the viewing area of a 19-inch cathode-ray-tube (CRT monitors are built with the plastic case covering part of their picture tube, whereas with LCDs you can see the entire screen surface).
The 171MP works with both PCs and Macs. It generates 16.7-million colours at resolutions up to 1,280-by-1,024 and refresh rates as high as 85 Hz vertical and 81 Hz horizontal. The colours are vibrant and I couldn't detect any flickering lines or shimmering pixels, as you can with some panels.
