There may not be a lot of people who would rather pay an ultrarealistic simulation of an F/A-18 Superhornet than fight Nazi zombies or command Copper Age horsemen. Let's face it: in the time it takes to learn a Jane's game, you could get a Ph.D. in particle physics. Possibly for that reason alone, nobody takes joysticks more seriously than flight sim enthusiasts. On the other side of that coin, few companies take making flight sim-oriented joysticks more seriously than Saitek. The X36 has long been one of the finest flight control systems available, combining a great feeling stick with an awesome throttle and adding so many controls, the learning curve almost matches that of the aforementioned flight sims themselves. That'll either make you cringe--in which case look forward to our review of the far more accessible Cyborg 3D Force--or drool.
