"As the Palm Handheld devices have become more and more popular other companies have gotten into the field. When the Palm was introduced to the market they sold faster than the VCR, Color TV, cell phone, and yes even the PC. After Handspring was created by Palm Pilots inventor, Jeff Hawkins and proved to the world that he could do it all over again in the Palm dominated market. Since then many companies have joined the ever growing Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) arena. Some of the newer companies to join in include Microsoft with the Pocket PC 2002 Operating System, Hewlett Packard with the Jornada Series, Compaq with the iPAQ Series, Casio, and the countless lower end generic manufacturers.
