"The Powermate can do 5 different actions, Turn Right, Turn Left, Click, Click + Turn Right, and Click + Turn Left. In the software you can choose among many functions to assign to each action, for example in IE you can set it so that when the Powermate knob is turned right, it will scroll down. Or you could set it to move the mouse cursor right (perhaps some sort of expensive Etch-A-Sketch). You can also assign any keystroke you wish, this is useful for controlling programs like Winamp."
