Hmm... Winbond is getting out of the memory market! That's a shame,
their stuff is pretty good. Also they're saying their DDR shortage is not due
to a problem in their SDRAM to DDR transition.
Exiting the standard DRAM market in 2004, Winbond Electronics will not be
building 12-inch fabs before the second half of 2003 due to a lack of market
demand and the enormous time and financial investment required, stated company
president Ching-chu Chang.
