By now you will all know there is very little separating these three chipsets. On paper both SiS and VIA would appear to have a definite advantage over Intel’s i845PE chipset however when put to the test this is not the case. It is clear that even with the lack of new technologies such as DDR400 and AGP 8X the i845PE chipset is superior to that of the P4X400 and 648. Unfortunately ever since the P4X266 days VIA has been struggling with the P4 platform for various reasons which I will not go into. It is unfortunate because VIA offer one of the most capable P4 chipsets on the market however without the support of motherboard manufactures they have struggled to make the chipset develop.
