After our last reviews in which we focused on Pentium 4 boards with i845E and i850E, we now checked out the Intel i845G on the EPoX EP-4G4A+ mainboard. Actually not officially supported, the i845G can handle DDR333 memory and due to this feature, it's a nice alternative to his opponents. And it also provides integrated graphics, which grants the i845G a larger range of use. Additionally, the EP-4G4A+ with DDR333 memory support might give us a sneak preview on the i845PE and the i845GE, which will officially support DDR333. Our first review on the i845G was about the Intel D845GBV mainboard, but it did not support a memory-clocking of 166 MHz (DDR333). Another issue on Intel mainboards is that they are build for stability, not for performance, so the manufacturers might get more performance out of Intels chipsets.
