Thermaltake Volcano 9 - Thermaltake Volcano 9
Thu, August 08 2002 | 10:29AM | PermaLink Feedback?
3dXtreme looks at the new Thermaltake Volcano 9... It looks almost exactly like the old Volcano 7. Check out how it performs here.

The initial impression of the Volcano 9 reminds us of the heatsink that was used for the Volcano 7. In fact after closer observation the only difference is the color. However this time around the cooler is sporting an updated 3 lug clip and an orange 80mm fan with a few leads coming off it. This cooler doesn't have the 100% copper, thin fin design of the Volcano 7+ thus pushing the technology of the heatsink itself back to the era of the Volcano 7. This new fa! n, dubbed Smart Fan II, is where the performance of the Volcano 9 originates.
