Belkin Nostromo n50 SpeedPad Review - Belkin Nostromo n50 SpeedPad Review
Sat, June 29 2002 | 11:52AM | PermaLink Feedback?
Most types of peripheral device have been honed to perfection. The Logitech MOMO Racing Wheel would have to be one of the best wheels on the market, flight simulator controllers with exact designs of planes such as the F-16 rule the roost. But there is one genre that just hasn't been perfected yet - the first person shooter. Since the dawn of time, or at least since Wolfenstein 3D, the exact same combination of WASD, Arrow Keys or the Numpad has been used to control your character. Whilst there have been attempts to replace the keyboard with something else, they inevitably fail one after another… until now. The N50 Nostromo Speed pad released by Belkin looks like it could be the first peripheral to actually rival the keyboard when it comes to first person shooter controls.
