PCexpo is on in New York right now and PCStats is here to cover the show. While there are not that many brand new products being showcased there is still a lot of rather cool tech here. Intel have a massive booth showing off some new SATA drives for the notebook and for the desktop - these devices should hit the mainstream in or around October of this year, just before Comdex Fall.
Viewsonic are showing a 22" LCD display that is simply mind-blowing. Now we have had a lot of displays in the lab for review, and seen many different levels of quality, but this display (still in the engineering stage) is exceptionally remarkable with 9.2 Mega Pixels. The picture is so increadibly clear that is just about impossible to see the actual pixels with the naked eye.
A price tag of about $8000 will keep this display firmly in the grasp of military, scientific, or engineering users.
AMD were showing off a few computers running the K8 processor, but sadly we were unable to take any pictures of the systems inside, or of the processors themselves.
