“For the past three years I've had a slow burner. A Diamond Data 30x6x4x which people love to laugh at due to its not so resounding quality and slow performance. It certainly wasn't the quickest burner at the time, and speedwise things just went downhill from there. Sure, you could still get life out of one of these old and slow drives, trudging along towards the end of its life. You could sit there for a half hour while it burns a full length CD, then wait for another half hour when you realize that the first time was just a test burn. You could go make a cup of tea, or a stir fry, even cook a roast while this was happening. Just anything that didn't involve using or bumping the computer lest the laser skip a beat and turn that hard work and waiting into a coaster for that cup of tea.”
