It wasn't long ago that a CD-RW drive was on the cutting edge of multimedia and cost nearly as much as the PC it was being installed in. How times have changed - for the better.
Samsung's Model SW-232 reads CD-ROMs at 40X, burns CD-recordable discs in minutes at a blistering 32X, and rewrites CD-RWs at a respectable 10X. It's useful for everything from playing games, to making music or photo CDs, to backing up your hard drive.
And while the drive sweeps across a disc like a blaze through a tinder-dry forest, at a suggested price of around $199 (less at retail) it won't torch the average person's technology budget.
