The event was one of the biggest LANs in the country, hosting close to a 1000 gamers over 5 days. Held at the Kentucky State Fair and Expo Center in Louisville, geeks and gamers alike flooded to the convention center for almost a full week of tournaments, prizes, case mods, giveaways, file transfers, and random duct tape attacks.
Though the LA site was cancelled, there still was plenty of gaming fun to be had. Counter-Strike and Jedi Knight II were the games of choice for the weekend. In addition to the LANing, Gamefixx.com setup a demo area of Gamecubes, PS2’s, and Xboxes. LANWAR held different contests like paper airplane design and Frisbee tossing for prizes like Geforce4 cards and more. Other activities included sampling the concession stand and duct taping your sleeping buddy to the floor.
