CRT monitors have been around for a while, the push has always been for bigger, better and cheaper CRT monitors. These days’ 19” monitors are rapidly taking over the 17” CRTs as the standard. While Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology has improved and prices are dropping, a good-sized LCD monitor still commands a good portion of your hard earned paycheck. Also, the technology behind CRTs is well established and has certain graphical advantages over the newer Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) technology. Flat CRT monitors have become commonplace and are only slightly more expensive then their non-flat CRT counterparts. Flat CRTs minimize geometric distortion, reduce glare and have a larger display area then standard CRTs.
