Legion Hardware checks out the Shuttle SS50 P4 system. We have one ourselves,
and Max is just about finished his review, but you should definitely check out
what Legion Hardware thinks.
The SiS 315 integrated graphics really struggled, and I can’t help
but think how much better this system would have been with the VIA P4M266 chipset
with its integrated S3 SavagePro. Nevertheless the SS50 had all the power you
could need for running non 3D applications, plenty of memory bandwidth, lots
of raw MHz and of course gigs of storage. For DVD playback, audio quality and
visual quality you can’t go past the SS50 as the ultimate DVD player or
audio system. There aren’t too many HiFi systems that can store up to 20,000+
MP3’s and randomly play them all at once.
