With the Internet continuing to reach new levels with the number of users connecting every day, what’s the next step? Wireless! This has already been achieved in Europe and Asia with the vast number of wireless users continually growing each day. You may wonder why North America is far behind and the simple answer is protocols or a wireless standard in this case. It seems as though Europe and Asia went with one, while here in North America we have CDPD, TDMA, and several other wireless standards. It can be considered a good thing as most people seem to love choice. However, for the growth of wireless, it means that we take a few steps back and Europe and Asia continue to move forward.
At the home or in the office, wireless access points are being looked at as a good way in which to free the user from their cubicle. However with some solutions there are limitations. With the iRE201 it offers up a cheap infrared solution for those PDA users who can’t seem to digest the cost of a wireless CDPD AirCard from Sierra Wireless. So let’s take a look!
