For those that don't know (which hopefully isn't many), a KVM switch allows a person to use a single Keyboard, Video (monitor), and Mouse to control multiple computers. Typically used in work environments to control multiple workstations or servers, KVM switches are quickly making their way into the small office and home setups of a more "average" computer user. I put average in quotes because most of the people who are using more than one computer at home are far from an average user, however, they definitely don't represent the typical KVM role. I personally use a KVM simply because it is more cost efficient, and saves space as compared to having multiple monitors sitting on my already cramped workspace.
