If you require the extra precision as trackball mouse gives you, then the TrackMan is well worth looking into. The learning curve is pretty high, but it's not as high as a thumb operated trackball mouse. Once you master it, you may never go back. Besides, how else can you say "I move my cursor around by fingering my ball"? :)
