Hmm... There's a lot of concern amung the Taiwanese chipset designers about the Springdale and licensing.

The technology licensing issue in the chipset industry is surfacing again with Intel’s introduction of its new Hyper-Threading Technology and the 800MHz FSB (front-side bus) standard for the upcoming Springdale platform. It is believed that Silicon Integrated Systems (SiS) will be most hard-hit among the three chipset designers if all of them fail to obtain the license.
