Performance wise, the drive can hold its own as a CD-ROM reader too although we had expected better from its compatibilities with CD-RW media. Of worthy mention is its excellent record as being one of the fastest DAE CD-RW we've seen so far too. But as a CD-RW drive, the TDK could have definitely performed better in light of some of the other better performing external writers (in the burning tests).
