The AMD Athlon in Retrospect - The AMD Athlon in Retrospect
Wed, November 20 2002 | 10:40AM | PermaLink Feedback?
Elite Guild has an article about the AMD Athlon... Geez, this looks a bit like an obituary! =(

AMD Athlon. That is a name that has become commonplace in the CPU market. The Athlon, which was first launched with a 650MHz clock speed more than 3 years ago, has been at times in its life, been Intel’s worst possible nightmare. Over the past few months, we have seen Intel’s Pentium 4 CPU scale incredibly and it reached 3.06GHz just last week. The Athlon is struggling to keep pace. I thought this would be a good time to take a look back to see what has happened in the last 3 years to the Athlon. So, lets get started.
