World's first MegaPixel CMOS Sensor - World's first MegaPixel CMOS Sensor
Mon, March 03 2003 | 10:52AM | PermaLink Feedback?
Whoa! This is pretty cool! Micron launches the world's first megapixel CMOS sensor!

Announced on Sunday, March 2 to coincide with the start of the PMA 2003 show in Las Vegas, Micron’s new 1.3-megapixel CMOS sensor is set to disrupt many perceptions about the quality battle between CCD and CMOS sensors. Targeting digital still and video cameras and PC cameras, the new MI-1300 sensor is manufactured on Micron’s own 0.18-micron DRAM process at its Fab 3 in Boise, Idaho.
