"Plextor PoweRec Technology (Plextor Optimized Writing Error Reduction Control). This technology identifies the media and maintains a quality of the recorded CD using a speed control strategy. When the writer begins the recording phase the parameters of the recording beam are tweaked based on database records. The active system monitors the quality of the recording process and increases the recording speed based on the results of the analysis. When PoweRec is disabled you can get the highest writing speed, but the quality is not guaranteed."
