Wide is the name of the game. What better to watch your favourite DVD on your computer than in it's proper 16:9 format? Samsung seems to agree with this purist mindset, and has released just such a monitor. The SyncMaster 172W is a slim and trim 17" LCD (measured diagonally) with the said aspect ratio of 16:9. This would be ideal for DVD not only on the home PC but in the living room. Sadly there is no way of connecting it to said DVD player though. The 172W is pure PC input, sporting both DB-15 analog and DVI digital input.
