How often, really, does the typical PC user consider the effectiveness, or even aesthetics, of the seemingly trivial (but certainly crucial) pieces of hardware, the old keyboard and mouse? With the exception of some walks of users, such as hardcore gamers, modders and possibly graphic designers, not too many people care about what kind of keyboard or mouse they're using, so long as it works. And this is not to be condescending; I'll be the first to admit to falling into this 'genre' of users - there doesn't seem to be a whole lot more that you ask for in a keyboard and mouse.
