As the name suggests, this card is another product in the long and
successful line of SoundBlaster cards, a name that has long ago became a
brand name for Creative, and a synonym for 'Sound Card' in general.
After the success of the first Audigy products, Creative continue to push
onwards and the new Audigy 2 series establishes a new level of performance
and features, a level other sound card makers (Hercules, for example) can
only aspire to.
The card I will be testing today is the best Creative has to offer to those
looking for a high end sound card and have no objection to shelling out a
couple hundred dollars (and then some more), and is based on the Audigy 2 ZS
sound processor, which provides a broader range of features and support for
more advanced sound formats and new audio standards.
