"In my experience, most “hacker” books have been published with the sole intention of raking in some quick cash. I have skimmed through countless books at my local library, finding nothing but amusement at the watered down information passed to the reader. However, Hacking the Art of Exploitation by Jon Erickson delves much deeper into the computer related issues people refer to as “hacking.” Erickson divides his book into three sections: programming, networking, and cryptology. Surprisingly, Erickson manages to go into great detail despite the broad subject of his book."
