“It’s not very often I get to play with a unique or innovative product nowadays but Track IR could certainly fall into both categories. Track IR 2 is an infra-red (IR) tracking system. It uses a small tracking device looking much like a webcam to track small dots which are fixed to your head (or cap, or boom mic etc). Sound strange? Well, it seems so at first, but they way it works is something to behold.
In its basic mode it works much the same as a mouse and can indeed be used as a mouse. Imagine not having to move your arm around to move your mouse cursor, instead simply moving your head slightly and watching the cursor follow your head movement. It sounds like a lazy way of doing things and maybe a bit of a novelty but that’s not really what Track IR 2 was designed for. Track IR 2 is designed for flight simulators.”
