Silicon Integrated Systems Corp. (SiS), a leading supplier of core logic and graphics chipsets, today announced its SiS760 and SiS964 core logic chipsets will be used within the AMD64 platform design as part of select HP consumer desktop PCs.
The HP consumer desktops based on SiS760 will target the mainstream and value PC users of the AMD K8 market segment.
"The selection of SiS by HP as their supplier for this AMD Athlon™ 64 platform demonstrates the continuation of SiS’ track record of providing leading-edge solutions to the PC market," said Daniel Chen, President and CEO of SiS. "The SiS760 with Integrated VGA North Bridge and SiS964 South Bridge for an AMD64 platform delivers to customers the widest range of feature options, performance, and interface capabilities. Coupled with SiS advantages of cost, quality, and performance, this makes the SiS AMD Athlon™ 64 solution a solid choice."
SiS760 supports the latest AMD HyperTransport™ technology, proving a 6.4GB/s transferring bandwidth, and 8/16 bits data connect with AMD Opteron™ and Athlon™ 64 CPU. Built with an embedded Mirage™ 2 Graphic Core, SiS760 offers not only hardware support for DirectX 8.1, but also software emulation of the advanced DirectX 9.0. SiS760 can simultaneously support the UMA architecture of AMD CPU and SiS’ proprietary LFB (Local Frame Buffer) technology, which can greatly improve the graphic performance and give great flexibility on marketing positioning strategy.
HyperStreaming™ Technology gives the SiS760 and SiS964 the capability to speed up the data processing, resolve the latency problems in a multi-tasking environment, and also completely upgrade the system functions.
