After the improvement last year I was hoping that the upturn in fortunes for ECTS would continue this year, but alas this was not to be. As this is my local IT show I can’t tell you how it pains me to have to type these words, but this year must represent an all-time low point in the history of ECTS. Dare I say that the show was worse this year than even the miserable dotcom bubble bursting show in 2002. Without the PlayStation “Experience” to pad the show out and bring a little glitz, the trade section this year was fully exposed as the lackluster affair it truly was. I can fully understand why NVIDIA stayed away (officially at least).
