Microsoft Goes Around The World In 3D To Try To Scoop Rival Google - Microsoft Goes Around The World In 3D To Try To Scoop Rival Google

"Bill Gates' company fired the latest salvo in the ongoing battle for Internet supremacy this week by offering a significant upgrade to its satellite mapping feature. Google took the world - and the world outside the world - by storm several years ago by creating Google Earth, a service that lets users access incredibly clear satellite maps that can hone in on about a third of the planet and allow them to see their own homes or businesses from space. The idea was introduced Monday, with 15 initial targets being re-imaged in the software's view: San Francisco (pictured, top left), San Jose, Seattle, Boston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Detroit, Phoenix, Houston, Baltimore, Atlanta, Denver, Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas."
