SiS today announced that it, as usual, has been invited to participate in yearly AMD Mobile Forum which is held on the 26th of Sep. in Nice, France. SiS will present its latest chipsets,the SiS771 and the SiSM771, for AMD desktop PCs and Notebook PCs platforms respectively.

The AMD Mobile Forum has huge influence on IT field, and is considered as a remarkable event. This year, AMD is ready to not only disclose its next-generation CPUs, architectures, various solutions for different functions of platforms, but also to show its visions to all value partners at the forum.

SiS and AMD have built a close partnership for years. The market shares of the SiS chipsets, which are particularly designed for AMD platforms, have been stably growing. At the AMD Mobile Forum 2006, SiS will present the lowest power-consumption AMD platforms, which are based on the SiSM771 and the SiS771 for notebook PCs and desktop PCs respectively.

The SiSM771 integrated chipset is compatible with AMD64 Socket S1 processor. This platform is embedded with the MirageTM3 graphics engine which supports hardware DirectX 9.0 to deliver advanced image quality of both 2D and 3D effects. As for the power-consumption, the MirageTM3 graphics engine is designed to automatically adjust the clock when delivering 2D and 3D effects. Also, the SiSM771 platform is equipped with the SiS968 Southbridge chip and the SiS196 high-speed Gb Ethernet chip to have faster internet access.

The SiS771 integrated chipset for desktop PCs is embedded with new-generation graphics engine of the SiS MirageTM3 and specially made for AMD64 Socket AM2 platforms covering AMD AthlonTM64 X2 and AthlonTM64 FX CPUs. With the MirageTM3 graphics engine, SiS771 platform performs the outstanding 3D effects and high-quality 2D video playback. Besides, it comes with the function of low power-consumption, and which results in relatively less undesired sound. Also, the SiS771 platform supports PCI Express x 16 interface enabling flexibly upgrades the operating systems, and provides better video performance of 3D games and multimedia audio effects.
