"The days of VHS are long over and the days of DVDs are now numbered since the introduction of the Blu-ray and HD-DVD disc formats into the market this year. Entertainment content has now taken a big leap forward in visual quality and we can finally watch true high definition content on those HDTVs that we spent so much money on.
We no longer have a need for high definition up-scaling players to emulate the quality of 1080p as Blu-ray movies come recorded in the 1900x1080 resolution versus conventional DVDs that were recorded at the 720x480 resolution. Bytesector has recently had the opportunity to test out the first Blu-ray disc player from Samsung, the BD-P1000, and experience the quality of true high definition content; needless to say we were mesmerized by the results."
