Dual Layer DVD burner prices are expected to fall below $30 US by the end of the third quarter. On that note, Lite-On will be offering a 20x DVD burner in the fourth quarter. Intel plans to cut prices on Celeron D processors in October and will release the Core2 Duo E4300 in the first quarter of 2007.

Aiming to counter pressure from the launch of Socket AM2 Sempron processors by rival Advanced Micron Devices (AMD), Intel plans to further cut the prices for the complete line up of its entry-level Celeron D processors in late October following a planned price reduction for the majority of the lineup on July 23, according to sources at Taiwan motherboard makers.
