Intel has opened up its 65nm Irish fab and it's ready to make chips. A UK online retailer has Conroe chips up for preorder. Looks like Intel will really start swinging the axe on July 19th.

Another cull we heard about was the closing of the San Diego office. I am told 150 or so people were given the axe, with the same terms, you have two weeks to pick two months pay as severance or two months to seek redeployment.
