As onboard audio solutions start to improve (ever so slightly), moving to high definition sample rates, Creative saw the need to come up with something new. That something is X-Fi, a soundcard that performs very well in gaming for a relatively low price. The "Fatal1ty FPS" version is their "Gamer" solution, which basically adds 64MB of onboard memory which developers have to support directly in their code. Does this make it attractive enough to cost 2.5X as much as a standard X-Fi?
