Hmm according to notebook manufacturers in Taiwan, the launch of of AMD's
Turion X2 CPU may start a price war in the dual core notebook market. The
Windows Vista delay has caused an investment bank to downgrade
Asus. On the Vista note, its delay could make Intel
cut prices sooner than expected.
Taiwans notebook manufacturers expect Intels price reduction
on dual-core Yonah processors to arrive in advance of the planned date of May
28, with the aim of stimulating the worldwide notebook PC market, despite Microsofts
delayed launch of its next operating system (OS). Various sources from market
research firms, including Lehman Brothers, have pointed out that the delayed
release of Microsofts consumer-version of its Windows Vista OS will slow
notebook demand and push back the peak buying season, the makers noted.
